Definition of DRM

(Digital Rights Management)- Software intended to prevent the unauthorised duplication of copyrighted audio, video or software. Unpopular with users because if there is ever a problem with it, such as the rights management company folding, your legallypurchased content becomes unplayable. Following a lot of problems of this kind it has largely been abandoned by the music industry.
