Definition of DVR

A functionality in Live Smooth Streaming that is similar to Digital Video Recorder (DVR) devices that record live video in a digital format to a disk drive or other memory medium within a device. In Live Smooth Streaming, you can enable and specify the duration of a Live Smooth Streaming event to save to a temporary archive. Clients that join the live event late (in-progress) can use controls similar to the DVR transport controls on cable/satellite TV remote control units, to access any part of the elapsed live event that has been archived. The temporary archive is discarded when the publishing point is shut down.
