India Ranked 100th in FIFA Rankings

According to the updated FIFA world football rankings, the Indian national football has were secure a 100th spot and entered throughout the top 100 of FIFA rankings. This is at the first try in 21 years that India have been ranked into top 100. India have been placed 100th alongside Nicaragua, Lithuania and Estonia with an overall of 331 points.

India had ranked 101st on the FIFA rankings for April. The team climbed one spot up owing for the recent wins over Cambodia and Myanmar. The current ranking is mostly a 72-place jump from being 173rd in March 2015. In 1996, India were secure the 94th spot. Till date, it remains the country's best ever FIFA ranking.

FIFA Rankings

The�FIFA World Rankings ranks the men’s national teams in association football. The rankings were first introduced in 1992. The teams are ranked based upon their game link between all FIFA-recognised full international matches. The teams are ranked based upon its performance during the last four years.

The rankings are still led by Brazil. The teams like Argentina,�Belgium,�Brazil,�France,�Germany,�Italy, the�Netherlands�and�Spain have also held top positions previously.
