Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Sunday flagged-off a semi-luxury tourist train, Tiger Express, from Safdarjung station in the national capital.

Prabhu flagged-off the train using a remote control from Mumbai on the World Environment Day.

Asserting that Railways is fully committed to address environmental issues, the minister said IRCTC will launch several more tourist circuit trains in the near future.

The semi-luxury train will take the guests to the world famous Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Parks in Madhya Pradesh. The five-days and six-nights itinerary of the Tiger Express includes two Tiger Safaris.

During the trip the train would take passengers to Katni from where they will be taken Bandhavgarh by road for a safari.

From there they will be taken to Kanha for another safari. The tourists will then be taken to famous Dhuadhar Falls in Bhedaghar, Jabalpur, before heading back to Delhi.

The package includes accommodation in air-conditioned rooms of three stars hotels for three nights, sightseeing, food, inter-city transfers and travel insurance. The itinerary has a tariff structure starting from Rs. 38,500. (ANI)
