Sulkhan Singh appointed as DGP of Uttar Pradesh

IPS officer Sulkhan Singh was on 21 April 2017 appointed since Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh during UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's reshuffle inside top ranks from the force.


 


Singh's tenure since Uttar Pradesh DGP is expected to be short as his superannuation arrives in September 2017. Sulkhan Singh is a 1980 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. He was currently posted inside Training Department of UP police.Sulkhan Singh succeeds Javeed Ahmed, who had been transferred towards lower rank. Ahmed can work as the Director General from the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Constabulary.Apart from Ahmed, senior police official Bhavesh Singh was appointed as Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) whereas, Aditya Mishra was elevated as Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order).These alterations in bureaucratic appointments came as soon as the Uttar Pradesh Government recently conducted its second major bureaucratic reshuffle by transferring 44 IAS officers. The pioneer such bureaucratic reshuffle was carried out on 12 April 2017 which involved 20 IAS officers.
